Today, while checking the news, I ran across an article in the Air Force Times, which indicated that the home of Joerg Arnu, a US citizen, had been subject to search by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI). Joerg Arnu of Rachel, Nevada runs a website that focuses on Area 51. He, evidently, had posted something on his website that the Air Force and FBI were concerned about and his home was raided on November 3rd. According to the article, “Lt. Col. Bryon McGarry, public affairs chief at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, said he was aware that Arnu’s properties had been searched by FBI and Air Force Office of Special Investigations agents. McGarry said he could provide no additional information. A press official with the FBI in Las Vegas declined to comment.”1
Very interesting….
Why would the US government do this? The article goes on to say, “[Arnu] said he believes material on his website “was legally obtained and legal to publish,” but said he has removed some of it “in an effort to defuse the situation.” Mr. Arnu goes on to say that “he was given an incomplete search warrant” and was evidently told that “that case records were sealed…so I cannot look up the reason for the search and I do not want to speculate.”1
I feel disappointed that the government would take this kind of action toward a curious US citizen. The US Air Force, specifically with regard to the Area 51 facility, has withheld information from American public in the interest of secrecy, and ostensibly, national security.
I purport that the US government’s dismissive and secretive stance toward US citizens to maintain the secrecy of Area 51, in light of the technological and intelligence capabilities of other nations, ipso facto suggests that something there is being hidden from the American people, not just from our adversaries.

I question the idea that the US government’s secretive stance toward the inquiries and curiosity of the American public is actually beneficial for national security. I have to believe that the governments of China, Russia, and any interested first world countries, have the technologic ability (by means of satellite and cyberintelligence infrastructure) to access much more information about Area 51 than the average US citizen can access. I purport that the US government’s dismissive and secretive stance toward US citizens to maintain the secrecy of Area 51, in light of the technological and intelligence capabilities of other nations, ipso facto suggests that something there is being hidden from the American people, not just our adversaries.
The US government is supposed to be a government “of the people, by the people, for the people.” In this situation, the government is not behaving consistent with that ideal. Rather, they are behaving in a paternalistic manner that demonstrates a lack of respect for the people.
Interestingly, I think that this raid also demonstrates a lack of thoughtfulness about the ramifications for secrecy surrounding the base. Presumably the raid was about secrecy. It seems, however, from searches related to this story, that the raid has received considerable media attention. That has likely brought a lot of traffic to Mr. Arnu’s website and therefore more attention to Area 51 and its secrets. Seems counterproductive….
We need more transparency in government. I believe that the people need to take back the reins of government. This starts by people getting involved in the process. The easiest way to do that, in my opinion, is to vote, communicate with our representatives, and to share our ideas with others in meaningful and respectful ways. Please reach out to your representatives today and ask for full disclosure about UFOs/UAPs, the Roswell Incident, and all related points of interest.
